about

The album "Just Get Lost" was recorded at Jambona Lab in Cascina, Italy, by engineer Antonio Castiello.

The style of music is a mix of vocal-based jazzy blues, Jazz-tinged singer/songwriter and velvety, Jazz-influenced blues.

The 12 songs on the album show musical influences of the different countries and cultures Anjù has lived in and talk about love, life and coming to terms with it all. Songs like “There´s Always Gonna Be Somebody“ bring to mind German influences like Kurt Weill. “Mmmh-Mmh, Mmh-mmh“, “Just Get Lost“ or “What Would I Give” are heavily influenced by her years spent in the USA with their rather bluesy, jazzy but also folksy flair. Her 10 years in Italy opened her up to more “Latin” rhythms like Bossa Nova and the Tango in songs like “Monì” or “When The Sun Comes Up I´m Gone“ and an afternoon in rainy England resulted in the beautiful and melancholic Jazz ballad “English Afternoon“.
